Seeking to know Christ and to make Him known

Operation Christmas Child

This ministry collects shoeboxes filled with gifts and delivers them to children in need around the world. Many of these children would not get any gifts if not for these boxes. But more importantly, every shoebox is an opportunity for the gospel to be proclaimed to children and their families. OCC works with local churches to use these boxes as a tool for evangelism and discipleship. Many of the children who receive shoeboxes are also enrolled in a follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. This is a 12-lesson program in which the children learn about following Jesus and sharing about Him with others. We hope you will be a part of this special ministry this month!

HOW TO FILL A SHOEBOX…
Operation Christmas Child boxes are available in the church foyer. Each box contains a brochure that gives detailed directions for filling your box. Also, included in each box is a list of gift ideas and the items that should not be packed in your box. Be sure to return your box to the church with the $9 donation for shipping enclosed and with the boy or girl label taped to the top of your box. Use the enclosed rubber band to keep your box securely closed.

THERE ARE A COUPLE OF CHANGES THIS YEAR…
First, the cost of shipping has gone up to $9. This is critical because it covers the cost of processing & shipping, as well as the cost for The Greatest Gift Gospel Booklets and training in local churches.
Second, toothpaste and candy are no longer allowed in shoeboxes due to customs regulations.

SHOEBOXES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE CHURCH BY SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19!
